Build Computers! Don't just buy Pre-builts

Do not buy "readymade" computers anymore, build computer from custom components. Building your own computer is not only the matter of saving money, it is the matter of getting what you want.

Getting different parts from different vendors to build your own computer does not necessarily mean that they are of low quality. In fact, you'll be able to get high quality brand new computer parts at very low prices online. What you need to do is to search, search and search.

Here are few things to consider to build your own computer.

Hardware
You'll need a case with power supply, a motherboard, a CPU, memory, disks and a DVD drive. So it will be better to look for bundles which include a motherboard + CPU for the best deals. You should expect to spend around $50-$100 on the computer case, $100-$150 on the Mother Board, $100-$200 on the CPU, $75 per 512MB of memory and $100 per 120 Gigabytes of disk.

Depending on the choice of motherboard, you may also add a video card ($100-$200) or audio card ($50-$100) approx.

Software
Pre-built computers often come with different software on it, the most important thing is the operating system. The actual price of the software is quite good, because manufacturers get great deals on this software as they buy in bulk. The dark side is it come with too much software, meaning garbage that you do not want and just clutters the hard drive and bugs you to buy stuff.

If you build your computer yourself, remember to build it with free operating system and most of the open source softwares.

There are different online resources you might want to visit for getting help about hardware and software selections. A bunch of websites and newsgroups are available on the net.
